A New York/Boston transplant, Carol Buchman received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and an MFA from Boston University School for the Arts. Her paintings have ranged in subject matter from spiritually inspired to children's book illustrations. Ms. Buchman currently has two pieces at The Jerusalem Biennale In the Jewish Art Salon's exhibit - Jerusalem Between Heaven And Earth, curated by Ori Z Soltes, Ms. Buchman was recently commissioned to do a “Legend” portrait by the Women’s Foundation of Memphis. She has been collected and exhibited in museums, synagogues, public and private spaces, schools, and corporate offices including the Tennessee State Museum; E. K. Rudin Gallery in Great Neck, NY; Alvin J. Fine Museum in San Francisco; Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, The Jay Etkin Gallery, and Mary Tomas Gallery in Dallas. Four large "Thunder and Lightning" horse paintings are now hanging in the new Baptist Children’s Emergency Hospital in Memphis and two at Lebonheur Children's Hospital. Ms. Buchman has been teaching art to young children for over 25 years and lives in Memphis with her Sculptor husband and two cats.
